OAKLAND -- In the midst of one of the biggest slumps of his career, A's slugger Khris Davis will get a night off as Oakland plays host to the Texas Rangers.
Davis went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in Friday's loss and is 1-for-23 with 11 strikeouts in his last six games. Mark Canha will serve as DH, with Chad Pinder playing right field and batting eighth.
Meanwhile, Franklin Barreto gets the start at second base in place of Jurickson Profar. Barreto has struggled since getting called up from Triple-A Las Vegas, going just 5-for-41 with a pair of home runs.
