The A's traded left-handed pitcher Marc Rzepczynski and cash to the Washington Nationals for minor league infielder Max Schrock, the club announced on Thursday morning.
Rzepczynski was originally acquired from the Padres with Yonder Alonso for Drew Pomeranz, Jose Torres, and Jabari Blash, on Dec. 2, 2015. The 30-year-old lefty has gone 1-0 with a 3.03 ERA in 55 games for Oakland this season, all out of the bullpen.
Over his last 15 games, he’s allowed just one earned run in 8.1 innings for a 1.08 ERA during that stretch. On the season, he leads all Major Leaguers with 53 inherited runners, and is tied for the Major League lead in inherited runners scored with 18.
