BALTIMORE — Rajai Davis’ second tenure with Oakland ended Wednesday, when the A’s traded the outfielder to Boston.
The A’s will receive low-level minor-league outfielder Rafael Rincones in exchange, The Chronicle learned.
The deal was not immediately announced because the A’s were still playing in extra innings. Davis, the team’s fastest runner, remained on the bench despite several potential pinch-running opportunities. Comcast SportsNet New England was first to report that Boston had obtained Davis.
Davis, who blasted a game-tying homer in the eighth inning of Game 7 of the World Series last fall while with the Indians, is batting .
