CLEVELAND -- The A's made two significant moves Saturday, trading outfielder Billy Burns to the Kansas City Royals and placing left-handed pitcher Rich Hill on the 15-day disabled list.
In exchange for Burns, the A's received outfield prospect Brett Eibner. Burns, 26, was a promising prospect in 2015, batting .294 in 125 games with the A's. But he hit .234 in 73 games this season and was playing at Triple-A Nashville at the time of the trade. It is expected that he will join the Royals Triple-A team at Omaha.Eibner, 27, has spent most of the past three seasons at Omaha, but had 26 games with the Royals, batting .
