One portion of the Kyler Murray wait has ended — and the next has just begun.
In just six words, the A’s first-round draft pick — and Heisman Trophy winner from Oklahoma — announced Monday his intention to at least keep his options open when it comes to the NFL.
“I have declared for the NFL Draft,” Murray tweeted Monday, the deadline for college players to announce their decision on turning pro.
The A’s had expected Murray to declare for the draft, as The Chronicle was first to report last week. Monday’s announcement does not have any bearing on his agreement with the A’s but is strictly procedural.
