HOUSTON — Even for masters of the late comeback, the A’s faced a high degree of difficulty Tuesday, and they almost pulled it off. They took a lead in the 11th only to see All-Star closer Blake Treinen stumble for the first time in nearly three months and a most unusual play make 6-5 winners of the Astros.
Treinen walked Josh Reddick to open the inning, then Kyle Tucker pushed Reddick to third with a base hit.
