OAKLAND – A’s lefty Felix Doubront exited Saturday’s game after just one inning due to tightness in his left forearm.
The seriousness wasn’t immediately known, and more details will likely follow after the conclusion of the Bay Bridge Series finale against the Giants. But the timing is awful for both the A’s and Doubront personally. He was just anointed the fifth starter by manager Bob Melvin on Tuesday, and this marked Doubront’s final tune-up before making his regular season debut Friday at Seattle.
Doubront walked one in a scoreless first, throwing 17 pitches.
