OAKLAND -- Khris Davis smiled and laughed in the clubhouse as he tossed two tennis balls to closer Blake Treinen before Sunday's 4-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
It was the same infectious smile the A's slugger displayed during Oakland's home-opening win against the Los Angeles Angels on March 28, a victory in which Davis homered in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Following the game, he was asked by a member of the media if he'd been impressing himself, Davis laughed and said he tries to. Fast forward to Sunday and he said he was definitely not in that same mind frame, but laughed when asked if he was impressing himself.
