A's outfielder Billy Burns, who finished fifth in American League Rookie of the Year voting last season with a .294 batting average, has been optioned to Triple-A Nashville.
His spot on the roster is being taken by infielder Ryon Healy.Burns has been struggling for the past seven weeks. He has hit just .173 in his last 31 games dating back to May 27 after posting a .271 average in his first 43 games this season.Healy, a third-round pick of the A's in the 2013 draft, has a .326 average with 14 homers and 64 RBI in 85 games in Double-A and Triple-A this season.
