The A’s announced on Thursday that Jharel Cotton will be reporting to Triple-A Nashville as the club prepares to welcome back starting pitcher Sean Manaea.
Cotton, 25, has struggled with consistency this season with Oakland. In seven starts so far, Cotton has gone 3-4 with a 5.68 ERA.
The A’s remain confident, however, that Cotton can bounce back and provide some youthful energy on their big league roster. The A’s acquired Cotton when they shipped Josh Reddick and Rich Hill to the Dodgers last August.
Since coming to Oakland, Cotton has shown fans plenty of reasons to be excited about his potential.
