MESA, Ariz. — Things got back to normal for the A’s on Wednesday at Hohokam Stadium. Unless you count one of their pitchers working against his teammates in a game.
The A’s defeated Team Italy 7-0, a day after they combined with the Diamondbacks for 34 runs in a game at Salt River Fields.
First baseman Ryon Healy homered in the fifth against Zach Neal — an A’s pitcher borrowed by the Italians for the day — and Matt Chapman continued his hot hitting with a two-run double in the fourth inning.
“I tried to not look him in the eyes, I knew we would both crack a smile,” Healy said after the game.
