The Oakland A’s announced on Tuesday that outfielder Cody Ross has cleared waivers and has been released.
Ross was designated for assignment Saturday.
Ross was batting .091 with no home runs and three RBI in nine games with the A's.
He was signed by Oakland as a free agent on April 8 after being released by Arizona on April 4.
The 34-year-old Ross is a .262 career hitter with 132 home runs and 508 RBI in 1073 games in 12 seasons with Detroit (2003), the Dodgers (2005-06), Cincinnati (2006), Florida (2006-10), San Francisco (2010-11), Boston (2012), Arizona (2013-14) and Oakland (2015).
