The Oakland A’s reinstated third baseman Danny Valencia from the 15-day disabled list and optioned infielder Tyler Ladendorf from Triple-A Nashville, the club announced Friday.
Valencia was batting .294 with two RBI in 14 games before he was placed on the 15-day DL April 22 retroactive to April 21 with a strained left hamstring. He made two starts at third base on a rehab assignment with Single-A Stockton on Monday and Wednesday and went 1-for-7 (.143) with a home run and RBI.
The 31-year-old right-handed hitter had hit safely in each of his final four games with the A’s before the injury, going 5-for-15 (.
