OAKLAND -– The Oakland A’s recalled left-handed pitcher Eric Surkamp from Triple-A Nashville and placed left-handed pitcher Sean Manaea on the 15-day disabled list with a left pronator strain, the club announced Tuesday.
Surkamp joins the A’s for the fourth time this year and is scheduled to make his seventh start of the season tonight against Texas. He was called up the first time April 8 and went 0-2 with a 5.59 ERA in four starts before he was optioned back to Nashville April 25. The 28-year-old left-hander made just one start in each of his next two stints and is 0-3 with a 6.
