The Oakland A's were represented by two power bats in the Futures Game to open Major League Baseball's All-Star Game weekend in Cincinnati.
For Team USA, first base prospect Matt Olson, had a solid showing. On the day, Olson went 1-for-2 with one run scored and a strikeout.
Olson was drafted in the Compensation A round by the A's in the 2012 draft.
Oakland was also represented by third baseman Renato Nunez for Team World. Nunez was not as fortunate at the plate as Olson, going 0-for-2 and left two men on base.
Nunez was signed by the A's as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2012.
