A minor league baseball pitcher is in very serious condition after being shot in the head in a drive-by shooting early Friday in the parking lot of a Yonkers Burger King, according to police.
Bullet casings littered the ground outside the fast-food restaurant on Central Park Avenue where the pitcher was shot just after 12:30am, Yonkers police said.
His father, Jimmy Nolan, identified the victim as Mike Nolan, a pitcher from Yonkers who was drafted last year by the Oakland A's.
He said his son, a Saunders Trades and Technical High School graduate, was also shot in the torso, and is now fighting for his life.
