A’s outfielder’s past glory is fodder for his son

CLEVELAND – Rajai Davis may not have gotten the ring he wanted, but all in all, his return to Progressive Field Monday was first-rate.

The A’s outfielder was back in Cleveland for the first time since his game-tying homer off Aroldis Chapman in the eighth inning of Game 7 of the World Series against the Cubs.

They showed video of the homer, the Indians presented him with his American League champions’ ring and he got a nice ovation in his first at-bat from the Memorial Day crowd.

“I definitely have a story to tell for the rest of my life to my kids, my family,” Davis to a horde of assembled media before the game.
