ARLINGTON, Texas – The Rangers raked Santiago Casilla hard in the bottom of the ninth as Texas took the first of a three-game series against the A’s, 5-2.
The game-winner was a walkoff three-run homer for Joey Gallo, the second walkoff three-run homer in as many days for Texas.
Oakland, thanks mostly to starter Jesse Hahn, took a 2-1 lead into the ninth. But Casilla, who had converted six of his first seven save tries, gave up singles to Jonathan Lucroy and Rougned Odor to open the inning and Mike Napoli tied the game with a sacrifice fly.
