OAKLAND -– Stephen Vogt was resting at home Monday after taking a foul tip in the groin area that forced him from Sunday’s game, and there’s no timetable yet for when the A’s catcher will return to the lineup.
Vogt had an ultrasound that showed no ruptures, manager Bob Melvin said. But Vogt did have significant swelling, and because of that, he is set to undergo a second ultra sound.
“He’s resting as comfortably as you could rest at this point,” Melvin said before the A’s series-opening matinee against Houston. “We’ll have a better idea in the coming days when he’ll be available again.
