OAKLAND — For such a young team, the A's have demonstrated tremendous resilience this season.

After Friday's win, Oakland is now 9-1 in games following a series-opening loss since June 15. That would explain why the A's have only lost two of their last 21 series.

The Green and Gold demonstrated mental toughness in Friday's victory as well. After squandering an early 5-0 lead, they regrouped and added two more runs, and the bullpen took it from there, tossing 5 1/3 scoreless innings to finish it out.

--- A's starting pitchers have lasted six innings or fewer in 10 straight games.
