MESA, Ariz. — He’s the Man of the Monikers. A’s new catcher Chris Herrmann just isn’t sure how he got tagged with so many nicknames.
In high school, it was “Herrm the Worm.”
After breaking into the big leagues in 2012 with the Minnesota Twins he became the “Herrmannator.”
During a two-year stint with the Arizona Diamondbacks, “Babe” Herrmann was the sobriquet of choice.
“I don’t know,” Herrmann said when asked of the origin of the last one, unsure if it was in reference to the Great Bambino himself. “I think that was from just the commentators.
