Haley Alvarez has been all over the country in her baseball operations career, but she’s happy to be back in the Bay Area.
The Ross native and Branson School graduate, 25, returns to the Oakland Athletics — the first major league team she worked for — as their new scouting coordinator. Alvarez spent the 2017 season as the Cincinnati Reds’ administrative assistant for baseball operations.
The A’s came asking for Alvarez, who was notified by Reds’ general manager Dick Williams that Oakland had requested permission to speak with her in late September, near the end of her year-to-year contract.
