Oakland outfielder Matt Joyce said that his back injury is not responding as quickly as he had hope to an epidural shot he received earlier this month, but he hopes to be back in action soon.
“It helped a little bit,” Joyce said. “I think it takes a little bit of time, but I think I’m close.”
Joyce did some running Friday and did an extensive core workout, but he has not yet hit.
