A’s general manager David Forst said Thursday morning that rookie third baseman Matt Chapman is in the hospital receiving IV antibiotics for the infection in his left knee.

Forst said that Chapman is still expected to come off the DL when eligible June 29.

“The oral antibiotics he’d been getting plateaued,” Forst said.

Forst said Chapman is expected to get out of the hospital Friday.
