OAKLAND -- Billy Burns hit a leadoff triple in the eighth inning and scored on Josh Reddick's one-out sacrifice fly, as the A's rallied to beat the Royals, 3-2, at the Coliseum on Sunday for their second straight win against the defending World Series champions.
The A's were held to one hit through the first six innings, but Chris Coghlan hit a ground-rule double with one out in the seventh, ending Royals starter Kris Medlen's afternoon. Jed Lowrie followed with a pinch-hit RBI single off of Royals reliever Kelvin Herrera.
