A's starting pitcher Felix Doubront was tagged for seven earned runs as Oakland dropped the rubber match of a three-game series against the Rangers on Sunday, losing 12-4. The left-hander lasted just 4.1 innings in Arlington and was saddled with his first loss in an A's uniform.
Down 8-0, Oakland mounted a rally in the sixth, scoring three times on a two-run triple from Danny Valencia and RBI single from Billy Butler. Rookie Carson Blair added a solo home run in the seventh -- the first of his career -- but that would be all the offense the A's could muster on the day.
