A's load up on college players in 2015 MLB Draft

OAKLAND – The A’s wound up taking 35 college players with their 40 picks in the three-day MLB draft that wrapped Wednesday.

By position, their 40 picks broke down to 21 pitchers, five catchers, seven infielders and seven outfielders. They made 30 selections on Wednesday, and that crop included three players with local ties.

Outfielder James Terrell, taken in the 11th round, attends St. Patrick-St. Vincent High in Vallejo. Ryan Howell, a second baseman drafted in the 15th round out of the University of Nevada, is from Danville.
