OAKLAND, Calif. -- Anthony Slocumb was leaning against the portable fence that separated fans from batting practice with a shy smile on his face -- and one particular A's player was looking at him.
Khris Davis approached Slocumb, but this wasn't the first time the two met. You see, last season, Davis met Slocumb and had the then 10-year-old sign his jersey. The A's held a Make-A-Wish fundraiser as the team hosted the Rangers back in August.
Davis sported the signed jersey throughout the entire game.
"I thought about him around the bases," Davis said after the game.
