CLEVELAND — Khris Davis, bothered by his sore left hip, batted once before being pinch-hit for in the third inning Tuesday by Mark Canha, who promptly slugged a two-run home run for a 3-1 A’s lead over the Indians.
The A’s announced he was taken out because of “lingering effects of the left hip contusion.”
Davis, batting fourth as the designated hitter, grounded out to shortstop leading off the second inning against Cleveland right-hander Trevor Bauer.
Davis had sat out Monday’s 6-4 A’s win over Cleveland, to rest the hip.
“I feel pretty good,” he said before Tuesday’s game.
