A’s Jed Lowrie needed another surgery this month, for deviated septum

SEATTLE - Jed Lowrie didn’t just have foot surgery in the past month - he also had surgery for a deviated septum, a condition he hadn’t realized he had until recently, believing he just had sinus trouble.

“I didn’t think anything of it, and then I saw an ear, nose and throat specialist and it turns out it wasn’t just a deviated septum, there were also two bone spurs,” Lowrie told The Chronicle by phone from his home in Houston. “My sleep had been messed up for a long time, I realized.”

Lowrie probably had had the issue since being hit in the nose with a ball in 2006, he believes.
