The Oakland A’s have begun to get over a couple of their early-season injuries, but one of them might turn out to be a long-term issue.
New closer Trevor Rosenthal hasn’t pitched yet after going on the injured list Opening Day, and now insider Martin Gallegos offers the following report:
“Bob Melvin says shoulder surgery is on the table for Trevor Rosenthal. He’ll make a decision in the next few days.”
In particular, the operation would be for thoracic outlet surgery, adds Gallegos.
Thoracic outlet syndrome is a major injury for a pitcher.
