A’s history with Ichiro makes expected last hurrah in Japan a fitting end

TOKYO — When a future documentary on Ichiro Suzuki’s Major League Baseball stardom is released, you can expect the A’s to be heavily featured in the highlights.

When the A’s meet the Seattle Mariners for two regular season games at the Tokyo Dome Wednesday and Thursday at 6:35 p.m. (2:35 a.m. PT,) it will likely be the final time Ichiro plays in a big league game. The Japanese superstar was included in the Mariners roster, which is expanded to 28 players for the Japan series, and will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday’s Opening Day. But is not expected to stick around when the roster is cut to 25 players for the stateside opening Day.
