A's go pink in celebration of Mother's Day

NEW YORK -- The A's went pink on Sunday, joining teams around Major League Baseball as a nod to Mother's Day.

Oakland players donned pink caps at Yankee Stadium, many of them using pink bats and accessories, including cleats -- items that will later be auctioned off at the Coliseum. Dustin Fowler was among the A's decked out head to toe in pink gear. This is all part of MLB's effort to fight cancer. Proceeds from all gear sold will go to Susan G. Komen and SU2C, which is celebrating its 10th season.

The A's will also honor their Honorary Bat Girl at a home game later this season: Tina Baker, a Stage 3 breast cancer survivor who has been a loyal A's season-ticket member for over 25 years, is this year's honoree.
