OAKLAND – The A’s hopes to enter the season on a roll came crashing to a halt this weekend with the Giants scoring a three-game Bay Bridge Series sweep, including a 6-3 win in Saturday’s finale.
With starter Andrew Triggs taking the loss after allowing a grand slam in the fourth inning to San Francisco catcher Nick Hundley, the A’s finished the spring with a 16-18 record and six consecutive losses between Arizona and the Bay Area.
The Giants sweep was the first over the A’s in the annual three-game series since San Francisco pulled it off in 2011.
