OAKLAND -- Of the many deadlines clubs deal with in the offseason, the next one on the horizon should be a cinch for the A's.
By Friday at 5 p.m. PT, teams are required to alert each of their arbitration-eligible players whether they will be tendered a contract for the 2018 season. The A's have seven of them, and all are expected to be back in green and gold next year.
Already this week, the A's came to terms on a one-year, $775,000 contract with outfielder Jake Smolinski, who was seemingly the lone arb-eligible player at risk of being non-tendered.
