OAKLAND — After undergoing a series of tests, including an MRI, on the right forearm and hand that forced him out of his most recent start, A’s ace Mike Fiers threw a pregame bullpen session Tuesday, giving hope that he’ll be available for his next expected start on Friday against Texas.
While Fiers’ bizarre facial hair, which drew comparisons to a cat’s tail, gave his team a chuckle on Saturday in Arlington, Texas, watching the starting pitcher leave Oakland’s 8-6 win over the Texas Rangers after experiencing numbness in his hand and fingers drew concern in regards to his status moving forward.
