OAKLAND – The A’s made a last-minute roster move before Tuesday’s game with the A’s, recalling infielder/outfielder Mark Canha and putting Jaff Decker on the designated for assignment list.
Canha, who arrived at the Coliseum about an hour before game time, made the opening day roster, but was shipped out after a 2-for-19 start to the season.
During his time at Triple-A Nashville, he hit .232 with five home runs and 16 RBI in 19 games and, thanks to 10 walks, had a .345 on-base percentage. He appeared mostly in right field, but also played three games in center, a position he’ll be able to man since Decker was the team’s backup to Rajai Davis in center.
