MIAMI - Daniel Gossett and Jaycob Brugman were roomates at Triple-A Nashville, but with Brugman called up Friday and Gossett officially coming up Wedneday, their apartment stands empty.
“That’s very good,” Gossett said with a smile. “As long as we’re up here together, we’re fine with it being empty.”
Gossett, who will start Wednesday’s game against the Marlins, will have a lot of support for his big-league debut. His parents, Stacey and Lee, will be on hand, along with his wife, Presley and her parents, plus Gossett’s pastor. His coach at Byrnes High School in Duncan, South Carolina, Michael Maus, also was hoping to make it to Miami.
