ARLINGTON, Texas - The A’s first two series wins in the bag after a super homestand, the team headed out on the road hoping to maintain their Sean Manaea no-hitter momentum.
It took a while, but the A’s caught fire in the ninth inning Monday at Texas, scoring six runs, five of them with two outs, to turn a tie game into a 9-4 rout. The A’s are 7-1 over their past eight games and they climbed over .500 for the first time since winning their opener.
Marcus Semien’s homer on the first pitch of the inning from Kevin Jepsen put Oakland in front, and Jed Lowrie’s hustle for a one-out single the key to keeping the inning alive - initially the major-league leader in hits was called out, but it was reversed on replay.
