The A’s made a quick move to fill the roster spot vacated when injured starter Jarrod Parker went on the 60-day disabled list Sunday by claiming right-handed reliever Andrew Triggs on waivers from the Orioles.
Triggs had a 1.03 ERA and 17 saves for Baltimore’s Double-A team in Bowie, Md. This spring the 26-year-old had pitched in three games with a13.50 ERA accented by seven hits and one walk allowed in 3.1 innings.
Last year opponents hit just .196 against him and struck out 70 times while working him for just 11 walks in 61 innings. In his career Triggs is 11-9 with a .
