SEATTLE — Matt Chapman is pretty sure he knows what got him his initial chance in the big leagues.
The A’s third baseman showed, once again, why he’s considered among the best defenders at his position Monday night with a diving grab into foul territory and a rocket to first base that robbed Seattle’s Mitch Haniger of at least a double.
Chapman came up limping on the play but quickly brushed the A’s trainer and his manager aside, telling them he was fine.
He proved it by making the other two outs in the inning, as well.
