OAKLAND — The Athletics celebrated the occasion of their 50th anniversary in Oakland Tuesday night with a 10-2 win over the Chicago White Sox, giving them their first series win of the season.

Rather than entertain a packed house of 46,028 with the drama of a tight game, the A’s staged a five-run, two-out rally in the first inning to get the party started and got seven shutout innings from Trevor Cahill to beat Chicago handily for the second straight game.
