A's catcher Josh Phegley is in a San Francisco hospital because of synovitis in his right knee.
Phegley, who is on the 60-day disabled list, was admitted Friday night and is resting comfortably, the A's said in a press release. He is being given antibiotics.Synovitis is inflammation in the knee joints. Phegley had surgery on his right knee early in July to remove a cyst.The A's press release said the team is awaiting more information to determine the next course of action.
