A’s can’t hold lead against Angels

ANAHEIM — What Matt Chapman and Khris Davis took, the A’s bullpen gave away Friday night.

Despite Chapman’s three-run home run and Davis’ two-run double, four relievers conceded five runs as the Los Angeles Angels rallied for an 8-6 victory in front of 43,330 at Angel Stadium.

The A’s held a 6-2 lead when Los Angeles scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning and loaded the bases after Cliff Pennington’s two-run single. Then in the seventh, Oakland’s bullpen collapsed.

Daniel Coulombe, the visitors’ third reliever, walked the only three batters he faced: Kole Calhoun, Andrelton Simmons and Ben Revere.
