A’s Cactus League opener could move from day to night game

MESA, Ariz. — There is a 100 percent chance of rain on Saturday in Mesa. This means that the Oakland A’s Cactus League kick off against the Chicago Cubs at Sloan Park could be delayed from its 1:05 p.m. MT start to a night game, when the rain could subside.

A.J. Puk will get the start, and manager Bob Melvin said any potential game cancellation won’t alter his pitching plans too much.
