A's Burns finishes fifth in AL Rookie of the Year voting

A’s center fielder Billy Burns finished fifth in the American League Rookie of the Year voting announced Monday.

Burns, who led AL rookies in hits, stolen bases and multi-hit games, garnered one second-place vote and three third-place votes to total six points. Astros shortstop Carlos Correa (124 points) beat out Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor (109) for the award, as those two dominated in votes that were cast at the end of the regular season by members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America.

Twins designated hitter Miguel Sano (20 points) finished third and Blue Jays reliever Roberto Osuna (8 points) was fourth.
