The A’s recalled right-handed hitting outfielder Mark Canha on Tuesday evening and designated lefty hitting outfielder Jaff Decker for assignment.
Canha, who was 2 for 19 in his first stint with Oakland after missing almost all of last year because of hip surgery, hit fiove homers and drove in 16 runs in 19 games at Triple-A Nashville and he also walked 10 times.
Decker, a good defensive outfielder, hit .400 over his first five games with Oakland but was 4 for his past 35.
The move leaves the A’s without a true backup center fielder behind Rajai Davis, but Canha played there during the springs and started three games in center with Nashville.
