A’s Black Panther bobblehead is so hot, if it wasn’t free, you couldn’t afford one

The A’s new bobblehead promotion happens May 5. Already it’s a success.

The bobblehead is somewhat unique (read: not entirely baseball related). The A’s and Marvel Entertainment have collaborated on a glow-in-the-dark Black Panther bobblehead in honor of Oakland native Ryan Coogler, director of the recently released movie “Black Panther.”

You’re furrowing your brow. Don’t tell me you’re some kind of dullard who doesn’t know about “Black Panther.” Why, it’s (reading surreptitiously from the IMDb site) the cinematic triumph in which T’Challa, the King of Wakanda, rises to the throne in the isolated, technologically advanced African nation, but his claim is challenged by a vengeful outsider who was a childhood victim of T’Challa’s father’s mistake.
