The return of Alexander should help boost a bullpen that’s been tested recently. Alexander has yet to make his season debut for the club. The team signed the veteran left-hander over the offseason just before spring training got underway to provide a stabilizing force for an uncertain bullpen. Instead his A’s tenure started with an injury to his ribs that cost him the first month-plus of the season.
