For the second time in the last couple weeks, the Oakland A’s brought back one of their former pitchers.
The A’s announced Friday that they’ve acquired reliever Sam Moll from the Arizona Diamondbacks, in exchange for cash considerations. The left-hander was not on Arizona’s 40-man roster and won’t need a spot on Oakland’s, and is now listed at Triple-A Las Vegas.
This is the second time the A’s have traded cash for Moll. In August 2017 they picked him up from the Colorado Rockies, and he appeared in 11 games wearing green-and-gold before being waived at the end of that year.
